Good practice: The standards and ethics award

Six local authorities were shortlisted for the LGC standards and ethics award, supported by the Standards Board for England.

All the shortlisted authorities had a dynamic approach to improving and promoting ethical standards among members and helping to boost public confidence in local democracy.

This section contains information on the ideas and innovations that have worked well for the shortlist, along with some ideas from other authorities. We hope that some of these examples will also be useful in helping you to achieve or maintain high standards in your authorities.
