Compact Toolkit to support work with parish and town councils

Jointly developed by Standards for England, the National Association of Local Councils (NALC) and Society of Local Council Clerks (SLCC), the Toolkit is designed for use by standards committees, monitoring officers, SLCC branch officers and county association officers.

It provides a package of support to encourage those that work with parish and town councils to develop a ‘compact’, or formalised agreement, about the way they work together to support those councils.

The ‘Compact Toolkit’ consists of:

• Guidelines explaining what a compact is and how to develop one
• Powerpoint presentation
• Template ‘compact’
